Frequently Asked Questions
-
Most clients describe the sensation as a quick flick or warmth on the skin. The treatment is generally very well tolerated, and settings are adjusted to keep you as comfortable as possible
-
Laser hair removal offers long-term reduction rather than complete removal. Many clients experience a significant decrease in hair growth, with maintenance sessions recommended over time
-
Hair grows in different cycles, meaning not all hairs can be treated at the same time. Results build gradually, and consistency is key to achieving the best outcome.
There are also a number of factors that can influence hair growth, including hormonal changes, new medications and pregnancy. These can affect how the hair responds to treatment.
It’s important to keep us informed of any changes to your health or medication, so we can adjust your treatment plan where needed and ensure the best possible results
-
After your treatment, the skin may appear slightly red or warm, similar to mild sun exposure. This usually settles within a few hours.
Over the following days, you may notice the treated hairs beginning to shed — this is a normal part of the process and a sign that the treatment is working.
It’s important to avoid heat, exercise, hot showers and products on the area for 24–48 hours after your session. Sun exposure should also be avoided, and daily SPF is recommended to protect the skin.
If you are planning a holiday, we recommend allowing at least 1–2 weeks before and after sun exposure. Treating tanned skin is not advised, so it’s important to ensure your skin has returned to its natural tone before your next session
-
Tanning is not recommended during your course of laser hair removal.
Increased pigment in the skin can affect how the treatment works and may increase sensitivity. Both sun exposure and fake tan should be avoided before and after your sessions.
We recommend allowing at least 1–2 weeks between sun exposure and your appointment, and ensuring any tan has fully faded before treatment
-
Once your appointment is booked, you will receive a pre-treatment consultation form via email. This allows us to review your medical history, skin type and any contraindications ahead of your visit.
At your first appointment, we carry out an in-person consultation, including a full skin and hair analysis, followed by a patch test to ensure the treatment is safe and suitable for you.
Your treatment can then begin, with sessions carried out at regular intervals depending on the area being treated. While single sessions are available, a course of treatments is recommended to achieve the best and most consistent results, as hair grows in cycles.
Over time, hair will begin to reduce, becoming finer, lighter and slower to grow back. Consistency is key, and following the recommended treatment schedule will give the most effective long-term outcome
-
At Clinink, we use advanced light-based technology with our All White Laser system to safely and effectively target the hair follicle and reduce future growth.
The treatment works by delivering controlled energy into the pigment of the hair, disrupting the follicle over time while protecting the surrounding skin. Our system includes built-in cooling technology, helping to keep the skin comfortable throughout the treatment.
Unlike more aggressive laser systems, this approach allows for a more gentle, controlled experience, making treatments well tolerated with minimal discomfort.
As hair grows in cycles, multiple sessions are required to effectively target each stage, which is why a course of treatments is recommended for the best results
-
On average, most clients require around 10–12 sessions to achieve long-term hair reduction, as hair grows in cycles and needs to be treated consistently over time.
Many clients begin to notice a difference in hair growth after just 1–2 sessions, with hair becoming finer, lighter and slower to return.
Results build gradually, and following the recommended treatment schedule is key to achieving the best outcome

To ensure your treatment is carried out safely and effectively, please follow the guidance below:
Before your appointment, the area should be freshly shaved (usually 24 hours prior), with clean, product-free skin on the day of treatment.
It’s important to avoid sun exposure and tanning (including fake tan) for at least 1–2 weeks before your session. Waxing, plucking or threading should also be avoided for a minimum of 4 weeks, as the hair follicle needs to remain intact for the treatment to work effectively.
Avoid using active skincare such as retinol, acids or exfoliants on the area for 3–5 days prior to your appointment.
On the day, arrive with clean skin and no products applied to the treatment area. Wearing loose, comfortable clothing is recommended for larger areas.
Please also inform us of any changes to your health or medication before your appointment, as this may affect your suitability for treatment. A patch test is required prior to your first session.”
